Kimberly Snyder's Glowing Green Smoothie Recipe | LaaLoosh (1)

Just recently, my BFF, Janice, introduced me to an amazing new smoothie recipe – Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie. Kimberly Snyder is a top Hollywood Nutritionist, and many of her clients are the celebrities whose bodies we drool over with envy.

This green smoothie recipe is part of her Beauty Detox program and it’s something that she has all of her clients drink. The recipe helps you get in a tremendous amount of leafy greens, which we all know have amazing health benefits. You can read all about her and her Official Glowing Green Smoothie Recipe at her site.

Eager to find ways to get in more veggies and get all those nutrients, I decided to give it a try, and I have to admit, I’m kind of in love with it. Janice suggested using orange juice to help the flavor, and I think that was absolutely brilliant. I also liked using lime instead of lemon. I truly thought it tasted fantastic, and the best part is that I really did feel satisfied until noon.

I’ve started drinking it now on a daily basis and making batches to freeze, and I’m eager to reap the health benefits.

Two things that I HIGHLY recommend to make this smoothie tasty and enjoyable is to keep it COLD. Very cold. And blend it as smooth as you can get it – use a good blender or mixer to puree the heck out of it. If you are looking to make a great investment, a Blendtec is the most recommended blender for this, giving the best results. It’s also my personal favorite blender.

I definitely recommend adding this healthy smoothie recipe to your plan. It’s so so good for you and will help fill you up. So get yourselves to a blender, ASAP! Here is my version of Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie Recipe. Enjoy!

I am absolutely addicted to this smoothie! I use 3 small clementines to replace the orange juice.

Thanks, Laloosh, for a delicious smoothie. This is my first smoothie ever and it tastes great. I do not have a juicer so I just peel the oranges and the lime and chuck them in. It works beautifully, and probably a little more healthy for you too. I buy a bunch of parsley, divide it into useable bunches, wrap them individually in plastic wrap, put them all in a freezer bag, and use directly from freezer into vita mix. For added protein just add half a scoop or a full scoop – your preference – of protein powder.

Ooooo….I LOVE that idea about the parsley…thanks for sharing! And the added protein powder is a great suggestion too!

How do you slim down the recipe so it will be only on 1 page.

      • Patricia10 years ago

Just try copying and pasting into a Word Doc. Then you can choose to print what you do or don’t want.

Laaloosh- Thanks for all of the great recipes!!! I am excited and slightly nervous to try this one.

I make a similar version that is only 1 point
Skip the orange juice, use water. add 1/2 banana & a few frozen mango chunks (available at grocery), add 1/2 tsp flaxseed. Makes two drinks, 1 point ea

I made two servings of this last night and today was my day one – I’m definitely going to give this a shot! As a long-time member of weight watchers, I’m struggling with how to count this. Do you still have success on the plan if you count it as 0 points? I definitely don’t think it’s 5 points + worth but I don’t want to diet sabotage myself. Thank you!

      • laaloosh12 years ago

I think that it’s fine to count is as zero if you feel mostly full and satisfied with it. If you still feel hungry after drinking it, count it as a few Points to “cushion” the eating you’ll do. That’s usually how I do it. :)

i tried this and was just simply suprised. thanks

    6. cadkins12 years ago

I have a vitamix (best inventment EVER!!! I seriously use it at least 2-3 times a day) and make smoothies all the time. This smoothie is DELICIOUS!!!! I have been making my own version of a green smoothie, but the addition of the OJ is awesome!!! I also add a few grapes and blueberries to mine. Oh and I always count my all fruit and veggie smoothies as 0 points unless I am adding protein powder or chia seeds. Then I add points

    7. Gc020876212 years ago

Why is this 5 points? If fruits/veggies are “free”, I must be missing something…. (Assuming it is fresh squeezed OJ..do I still count points from that?)

      • WasntMeSB12 years ago

When you use the “Recipe Builder” on WW, it counts the points for fruit in a recipe. They do that so people don’t overdo it on “free” fruit. The new plan and daily points allowance takes in to consideration that people will probably eat 2 “free” fruits per day. If you have 2 “free” fruits, and then eat a smoothie every day as well (which basically has another 2 fruits in it), you are really over doing it on “free” fruits. For some people, this may slow down weight loss. My rule of thumb is that I don’t count the points for fruits in a smoothie (I only count points for yogurt or coconut water or whatever other things I put in it), but I make sure I don’t pile on additional “free” fruit during the day.

I made this last night in a traditional blender, and then used my immersion blender in the pitcher this morning. While it certainly tastes fine, I would concur that you most definitely should use your VitaMix if you have one. Mine is a bit clumpy from the spinach and celery fibers. It’s not enough to make me go out an get a VitaMix, but I think it’s absolutely a bonus.

      • Laurie12 years ago

Yikes – just looked at the price of the VitaMix. I will be making this in my traditional blender as well :)

        • laaloosh12 years ago

I make in my Kitchen Aid blender and it works just fine :)

        • Tj10 years ago

I LOVE MY NUTRIBULLET, cheaper than vitamix

    9. sl63912 years ago

sounds interesting. I would be the only one drinking it so I do not need 2 servings. Can it be frozen? Do you use a reg blender or something more powerful? I just have a reg blender. I am wondering it has enough power. Thanks for your help

      • laaloosh12 years ago

Yes, you can use a regular blender, but it may not get quite as smooth as a Vita Mix. And you can refrigerate this smoothie for up to 2 days, and freeze it as well :)

    10. Superwvu12 years ago

Where is the high protein in this?

    11. Sem12 years ago

Can this be made, then frozen and thawed? Is it still good if half is kept overnight in the frig?

      • laaloosh12 years ago

Yes, you can freeze it, or refrigerate it for up to 2 days. I’ve tried it both ways and it still tastes great.

    12. Paige12 years ago

Yum! I’m always looking for new green smoothie recipes. I’ll probably just count the orange juice, and count the rest as 0.

    13. Todieandwither12 years ago

So you get people here by having the ZERO POINTS PLUS in your title?

      • Jan12 years ago

Did you read the description? You can count it as 0 or 5. I just count the OJ, but you can leave it out and count it as 0.

      • anon6712 years ago

Comments like this bother me. This is a free website that gives excellent recipes, don’t come on and complain about a headline. Make the smoothie or not, count the points or not, not a very big deal.
